Description
U.S. Springfield Model 1884 Trapdoor Saddle Ring Carbine. Serial no. 344639, .45-70 caliber, 22-inch barrel with fixed front sight and rear ladder sight. Blued finish. Saddle ring. Lock with American eagle and U.S. Springfield 1873. Varnished walnut stock. Carbine butt with cleaning rod reservoir. Three-piece cleaning rod.Condition: Very good. Finish primarily a dark grey age patina with scattered wear and light pitting in areas. Wood showing scuffs, dents and bruises. Pitting to buttplate. Action is good. Dark bore.
