Description
U.S. Springfield Model 1884 Trapdoor Rifle.Serial no. 537502, .45-70 caliber, 33-inch barrel with standard military sights. Blued finish. Top of breech marked: U.S. / MODEL / 1884. Lock marked: (eagle) and U.S. / SPRINGFIELD. Smooth hardwood full-body stock with sling swivels, stacking swivel and leather shoulder strap. Each side of stock displaying the number 7 and 718 to right side only. U.S. marked metal butt with cleaning rod reservoir, cleaning rod present.
Condition: Good. Finish primarily a smooth grey patina with noticeable signs of handling wear and areas of pitting. Scattered scuffs and dings present to wood. Cracking and discoloring to leather. Action good. Strong bore.
