Description
U.S. Springfield Model 1884 Trapdoor Rifle.Serial no. 391101, .45-70 caliber, 32-inch barrel with fixed front sight and adjustable rear sight. Blued finish. Top of breech marked: U.S. / MODEL / 1884. Undated lock marked with an eagle and U.S. / SPRINGFIELD. V/P/(eagle) proof to left side of barrel. Varnished walnut stock with 1885 dated cartouche to left side. Sling swivels and leather shoulder sling. U.S. marked metal buttplate.
Condition: Retaining approximately 70-80% finish with scattered signs of wear and pitting. Scuffs and dings present to wood. Action good. Strong bore.
