U.S. Springfield Model 1873 Saddle Ring Carbine.
Serial no. 342653, .45-70 caliber, 22-inch barrel with hooded front sight and adjustable rear folding sight. Blued finish. Lock marked: (eagle) and U.S. / SPRINGFIELD. Saddle ring. Smooth hardwood stock with barrel band marked: U. Metal carbine buttplate stamped: U.S. / S.C. Cleaning rod reservoir with three-piece metal cleaning rod.

Condition: Very good. Finish primarily a smooth grey patina with scattered signs of handling wear and areas of pitting. Scuffs and dings present to stock. Action good. Lightly pitted bore.
