U.S. Springfield 1869 Trapdoor Rifle with Bayonet.

Serial no. 13734 [barrel and receiver], .50-70 caliber, 33-inch barrel with fixed front sight and folding rear ladder sight. Lock marked: 1863, (eagle) and U.S. / SPRINGFIELD. Smooth walnut straight stock with four faint cartouches to left side. Sling swivels. Metal cleaning rod and U.S. stamped carbine butt. Unmarked socket bayonet with 17-inch blade.

Condition: Very good. Finish primarily a smooth grey patina with signs of handling wear, age and fine patches of pitting. Bayonet is of a later period. Scattered scuffs and dings present to wood. Action good. Strong bore.
