Description
Sharps New Model 1863 Saddle Ring Carbine.Serial no. 79781, .54 caliber, 22-inch barrel with fixed front sight and folding rear ladder sight. Blued and case-hardened finish. Lock marked: R.S. LAWRENCE PAT. / APRIL 12TH 1859 / C. SHARP'S PAT. / OCT. 5TH 1852. Smooth walnut straight stock and fore-end. Hinged patchbox to right side of stock. Metal buttplate.
Condition: Good. Finish a smooth grey patina with scattered signs of handling wear, age and patches of pitting. Saddle ring absent. Heavy dings and bruising present to wood. Action good. Lightly pitted bore. The Bill Bentham Collection.
