Sharps New Model 1863 Saddle Ring Carbine Attributed to Indian Tall Bull at the Battle of Little Bighorn.
Serial no. 50752, .50-70 caliber, 22-inch barrel with fixed front sight and adjustable rear ladder sight. Blued and case-hardened finish. Smooth walnut straight stock and fore-end, with decorative brass tacks to right side. Metal buttplate. Sold along with two letters: 1.) Typed letter signed from J.M. Davis, from The J.M. Davis Arms and Historical Museum in Claremore, Oklahoma, dated June 2, 1960. 2.) Typed letter signed by Colorado historian Jeff Broome, dated May 4, 2002. Each states that the carbine belonged to an Indian called "Tall Bull" at the Battle of Little Bighorn.

Condition: Good. Finish primarily a bright grey patina with noticeable signs of handling wear and pitting. Saddle ring absent. Scattered scuffs and dings present to wood. Action crisp. Moderately pitted bore. The Michael Ward Collection of Western Americana
