Description
Sharps New Model 1859 Breechloading Carbine. Serial no. 60261, .52 caliber, 22-inch barrel marked NEW MODEL 1859. Adjustable Lawrence folding ladder rear sight. Iron fittings. Walnut stock with patchbox. Curved steel buttplate. Condition: Very good. Barrel has a mottled brown patina with scattered patches of fine pitting. Muted case colors. Stock very good to fine with scattered dents and fine hairline crack at left side of wrist. Patchbox and buttplate with a smooth, mottled gray-brown patina. Bright strong bore with patches of light pitting.Auction Info
