Description

Sharps Metallic Cartridge Conversion Saddle Ring Carbine. NVSN, .52 caliber, 22-inch round re-lined barrel with three-groove rifling and military sights. Blued and case-hardened finish. Left side of receiver with October 1852 patent date. Smooth walnut stock with crescent buttplate. Cartouche at comb appears to be HCH.
Condition: Very good as period converted. Barrel mostly a bare metal finish with mottled gray patina and scattered fine pitting. Tool marks present. Receiver with muted case colors. Right side showing signs of cleaning. Stock is fine and possibly a factory replacement at the time of conversion. Action strong. Bright bore with light wear.
