Description
Sharps Falling Block Single Shot Rifle.Serial no. 155419, .40 caliber, 30-inch octagonal and round barrel with fixed front sight and folding rear ladder sight. Blued and case-hardened finish. Top of barrel marked: SHARPS RIFLE CO. HARTFORD, CONN. Left side of frame marked: SHARPS RIFLE CO. / PAT. APRIL 6, 1869. Dual triggers. Smooth walnut straight stock and fore-end. Metal carbine buttplate.
Condition: Very good. Retaining approximately 10-20% of a thinning finish, the balance a smooth grey patina with scattered signs of age, handling wear and patches of pitting. Noticeable scuffs, dings and bruising present to wood. Action crisp. Bright bore.
