Description
Sharps & Hankins Model 1862 Navy Carbine.Serial no. 7251 [upper tang], .52 caliber, 24-inch barrel with fixed front sight and adjustable rear sight. Blued and case-hardened finish. Barrel is leather wrapped to prevent from rusting. Right side of receiver marked: SHARPS / & / HANKINS / PHILADA. Left side: SHARPS / PATENT / 1859 and P / OCB. Smooth hardwood straight stock with sling swivel. Brass buttplate.
Condition: Very good. Finish primarily a smooth grey patina with some faint case colors remaining, handling wear and fine patches of pitting. Some cracking and discoloration present to leather. Scattered dings and bruises present to wood. Action crisp. Lightly pitted bore.
