    Carlos Gove Denver, Colorado

    Remington Rolling Block Rifle by C.GOVE. Serial no. 22 (on barrel and frame), .45 caliber, 30 ¼-inch octagonal barrel with dove tailed brass blade front and adjustable rear sights. Barrel flat under rear sight is marked: C. GOVE / DENVER COL. Blued and case-hardened finish. Highly figured, fine checkered walnut stock. Tang-mounted rear peep sight. Curved steel butt plate. Hardwood cleaning rod with brass tip. Approximately 12 lbs.

    Carlos Gove and Morgan Rood were contemporary Denver gunsmiths. Each was shipped one of the rifles in this sale.
    Gove only put his name on rifles that he altered.

    Condition: Very good to fine. Barrel with fine gray-brown patina. Receiver with a silvered-gray, very smooth patina. Wood is fine with age wear and one large stained area to left side. Repair to fore-end. Bore fine. Action strong.
