Description
Rare U.S. Simeon North / Hall 1838 Percussion Breechloading Carbine with Bayonet.Unserialized, .54 caliber, 26-inch barrel with fixed front and rear sights. Breechblock marked: U.S. / S. NORTH / MIDLTN / CONN / 1838. Under lever releases action. Smooth walnut straight stock with two barrel bands, one sling swivel and sliding bayonet. Flat metal buttplate.
Condition: Good. Finish primarily a dark grey patina with scattered areas of handling wear, age and pitting. Noticeable dings, bruising and scuffs present to wood, with some loss to base of fore-end. Action functions. Moderately pitted bore.
