Joslyn Model 1862 Saddle Ring Carbine.
Serial no. 644, .52 rimfire caliber, 2122-inch barrel with fixed front sight and folding rear sight. Blued finish. Saddle ring. Lock marked: JOSLYN FIREARMS CO. / STONINGTON / CONN. Top of breech marked: B.F. JOSLYN'S PATENT / OCTOBER 8TH, 1861 / JUNE 24TH, 1862. Smooth hardwood stock, with brass barrel band, triggerguard and buttplate.
Provenance: National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum. Sold to benefit the Museum's collections and acquisitions.

Condition: Very good. Finish primarily a dark grey patina, with scattered signs of wear and patches of pitting. Heavy dings, bruises and scuffs to wood. Action good. Bright bore.
