Description
J. Stevens Single Shot Target Rifle.Serial no. 27576 [barrel and receiver], .22 caliber, 24-inch octagonal and round barrel with rear elevation sight. Blued and case-hardened finish. Upper tang peep sight. Smooth walnut straight stock and fore-end. Crescent metal buttplate.
Provenance: The Don Otterson Collection.
Condition: Good. Retaining trace of finish, the balance a smooth grey patina, with scattered signs of handling wear and fine patches of pitting. Some vibrant case colors remaining. Front sight absent. Trivial drilled hole to lower tang. Scratches, scuffs and dings present to wood. Action good. Lightly pitted bore.
