H.C. Hohnlein Schutzen Single-Shot Target Rifle.
Serial no. 5497 [barrel and receiver under fore-end], .17 caliber, 28 1/2-inch barrel with fixed front sight and rear peep sight. Blued finish. Barrel marked: H.C. HOHNLEIN and FORCHHEIM BAYR. Case-hardened receiver. Checkered walnut straight stock and fore-end. Stock with oversized cheekrest and Schutzen butt. Original brass museum inventory tag attached: J.M. DAVIS / 9436 / MEMORIAL.
Sold to Benefit The JM Davis Collection at the JM Davis Arms and Historical Museum.

Condition: Fine. Retaining approximately 94-96% finish, with scattered signs of handling wear and patches of pitting. Dings and scuffs present to wood. Action good. Lightly pitted bore.
