German Joseph Strassberger Single Shot Schutzen Rifle.

Unserialized, 4mm caliber, 26 1/2-octagonal barrel with fixed front and rear sights. Blued finish. Top of barrel marked: JOS. STRASSBERGER IN TRAUNSTEIN. Scroll engraved receiver, hammer and upper tang. Checkered walnut half-stock with cheekrest and Schutzen buttplate. Sling swivel. Original brass museum inventory tag attached: J.M. DAVIS / 8636 / MEMORIAL.
Sold to Benefit The JM Davis Collection at the JM Davis Arms and Historical Museum.

Condition: Very good. Finish primarily a smooth dark grey patina with scattered signs of handling wear and patches of pitting. Scattered scuffs and dings present to wood. Action good. Strong bore.
