Description
Engraved H. Burgsmuller Single-Shot Target Rifle.Serial no. 94, 8mm caliber, 25-inch octagonal barrel with fixed front sight and folding leaf rear sight. Blued and case-hardened finish. Top of barrel marked: H. BURGSMULLER / KREIENSEN. Scroll engraved receiver and lever. Checkered pistolgrip stock and splinter fore-end. Sling swivels. Metal buttplate. Original brass museum inventory tag attached: J.M. DAVIS / 4157 / MEMORIAL.
Sold to Benefit The JM Davis Collection at the JM Davis Arms and Historical Museum.
Condition: Good. Finish a smooth grey patina with thinning to relief edges, scattered signs of handling wear and fine patches of pitting. Noticeable scuffs, scratches and dings present to wood. Action good. Strong bore.
