Engraved Alex Henry Single Shot Falling Block Percussion Rifle.

Unserialized, .45 caliber, 28-inch blued barrel with fixed front and rear sights. Top of breech marked: PATENT / NO. 1862. Top of barrel marked: ALEX HENRY EDINBURGH AND LONDON. Elaborately scroll engraved receiver, hammer and lever. Checkered walnut pistolgrip stock and fore-end. Checkered metal buttplate. Original brass museum inventory tag attached: J.M. DAVIS / 2871 / MEMORIAL.
Sold to Benefit The JM Davis Collection at the JM Davis Arms and Historical Museum, Part II.

Condition: Very good. Finish primarily a smooth grey patina with thinning to muzzle, handling wear and patches of pitting. Scattered scuffs, scratches and dings present to wood. Noticeable crack to right side of stock, near top. Action good. Bright bore.
