Edward Maynard Mass Arms Co. Navy Saddle Ring Carbine.

Serial no. 14076, .52 caliber, 20-inch octagonal to round barrel with fixed front sight and folding rear sight. Blued and case-hardened finish. Right side of receiver marked: MANUFACTURED BY / MASS ARMS CO. / CHICOPEE FALLS; and EDWARD MAYNARD / PATENTEE / MAY 27 1851 / DEC 6 1859. Saddle ring. G.W.S. stamped to left side of barrel. Smooth walnut straight stock with two cartouches to left side. Metal buttplate.

Condition: Fine to excellent. Retaining approximately 95-97% finish with light thinning at muzzle, handling wear and very fine patches of pitting. Few scattered dings present to wood. Action crisp. Mirror bright bore. From the Sylver Schaller Collection.
