Description
C. Sharps New Model 1863 Breechloading Saddle Ring Carbine.Serial no. 76524, .52 caliber, 22-inch barrel with fixed front sight and rear ladder sight. Blued finish. Saddle ring. Top of barrel marked: NEW MODEL 1863. Lawrence and Sharps patents to right side of receiver. Walnut straight stock and fore-end. FS carved into left side of stock. Hinged cap box to right side of stock. Curved metal buttplate.
Condition: Very good. Finish primarily a smooth grey age patina with scattered wear and patches of pitting. Wood showing minor scuffs, scratches and dings. Action good. Lightly pitted bore.
