Burnside Rifle Co. Fourth Model Breechloading Saddle Ring Carbine.
Serial no. 7289 [receiver and action], .54 caliber, 21-inch barrel with fixed front sight and folding rear sight. Blued finish. Saddle ring. Lever action, featuring a hinged section of the breech block. Varnished walnut straight stock and fore-end. Sling swivel to base of stock. Crescent metal buttplate.
Provenance: National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum. Sold to benefit the Museum's collections and acquisitions.

Condition: Good. Finish primarily a bright grey patina, with scattered signs of age, handling wear and patches of pitting. Scuffs and dings present to wood. Action good. Strong bore.
