Description
Belgian Transitional 1849 Breech Loading Single Shot Rifle.Serial no. 2 [all matching], approximately .74 caliber, 36 1/2-inch barrel with fixed front sight and rear folding sight. Bayonet lug. Blued finish. Case-hardened underhammer action. (crown) / K / 1849 to top of breech. Smooth walnut straight stock with three barrel bands and two sling swivels. 197 stamped to left side of stock. Brass triggerguard and buttplate.
Condition: Fine. Retaining approximately 80-85% finish with thinning at muzzle, scattered handling wear and fine patches of pitting. Scuffs and dings present to wood. Action crisp. Mirror bright bore. From the Sylver Schaller Collection.
