Description
U.S. Underwood M1 Semi-Automatic Carbine.Serial no. 1765622, .30 caliber, 18-inch barrel with standard military sights. Parkerized finish. Top of barrel dated: 8-43. Smooth walnut pistolgrip stock with sling swivel and oval cut oiler. Checkered metal buttplate. The .30 Carbine round is smaller and less powerful than the .30-06 of the Garand, but offered low recoil and higher magazine capacity.
Condition: Very good. Retaining approximately 97-99% finish with light handling wear. Scattered scuffs and dings present to wood. Crisp action. Strong bore. Magazine absent. Tom Mixon Collection
