Description
U.S. Underwood M1 Semi-Automatic Carbine.Serial no. 2488651, .30 caliber, 18-inch barrel with standard military sights. Bayonet lug. Parkerized finish. Top of barrel dated: 4-44. Smooth walnut pistolgrip stock with sling swivel and oval cut oiler. Checkered metal buttplate. The M1 Carbine is a lightweight, historically significant firearm that filled the gap between pistols and full rifles. Beloved by many soldiers for its portability but criticized for limited power, it remains an enduring symbol of WWII and beyond.
Condition: Good. Retaining approximately 80-85% finish with signs of handling wear and fine patches of pitting. Scattered dings, scuffs and bruising present to wood. Action good. Bore strong. Magazine absent. Tom Mixon Collection
