U.S. Underwood M1 Semi-Automatic Carbine.

Serial no. 524012, .30 caliber, 18-inch barrel with standard military sights. Parkerized finish. Top of barrel marked: UNDERWOOD / 7-43 / (flaming bomb). Smooth walnut pistolgrip stock with sling swivel, oval cut oiler and vinyl shoulder sling. Checkered metal buttplate. The M1 Carbine was in high demand during WWII, and Underwood was contracted because of its precision manufacturing capabilities from making typewriters and other fine machinery.

Condition: Good. Retaining approximately 90-94% finish with some thinning to relief edges, handling wear and fine patches of pitting. Scattered scuffs, dings and bruising present to wood. Trivial 115 to top of wrist. Action crisp. Bore strong. Magazine absent. Tom Mixon Collection
