Description
U.S. Underwood M1 Semi-Automatic Carbine.Serial no. 1930168, .30 caliber, 18inch barrel with standard military sights. Parkerized finish. Bayonet lug. Top of barrel marked: UNDERWOOD / 11-43 / (flaming bomb). Smooth walnut pistolgrip stock with sling swivel and oval cut oiler. GHD / UEF Ordnance escutcheon to right side of stock. Checkered metal buttplate. Underwood M1 Carbines demonstrate how civilian manufacturing supported the war effort, similar to IBM and other companies.
Condition: Very good. Overall showing light handling wear and very fine spots of pitting. Scattered dings present to wood. Action crisp. Bore bright. Tom Mixon Collection
