Description
U.S. Postal Meter M1 Semi-Automatic Carbine.Serial no. 4170930, .30 caliber, 18-inch barrel with standard military sights. Parkerized finish. Top of barrel marked: MARLIN, receiver marked: POSTAL METER. Flat bolt. Bayonet lug. Smooth walnut pistolgrip stock with sling swivel, oval cut oiler and vinyl shoulder sling. Checkered metal buttplate. Total Postal Meter M1 Carbines: Estimated ~10,000-15,000 units, making them extremely rare. These rifles were fully military-grade, indistinguishable in performance from other M1 Carbines.
Condition: Very good. Overall showing light handling wear and fine spots of pitting. Crisp action. Bright bore. Magazine absent. Tom Mixon Collection
