Description
U.S. Inland M1 Semi-Automatic Carbine.Serial no. 6640978, .30 caliber, 18-inch barrel with standard military sights. Parkerized finish. Top of barrel marked: INLAND / 11-44. Flat bolt. Bayonet lug. Smooth walnut pistolgrip stock with sling swivel, oval cut oiler and vinyl shoulder sling. Checkered metal buttplate. Inland pioneered assembly-line techniques for the carbine, helping the U.S. meet the massive demand for lightweight semi-automatic rifles for soldiers, paratroopers, and support troops.
Condition: Good to very good. Retaining approximately 92-94% finish with some thinning at relief edges, handling wear and fine patches of pitting. Scattered dings present to wood, some noticeable scuffs near butt. Action and bore both good. Magazine absent. Tom Mixon Collection
