Description
Rare Winchester T3 Carbine
Rare Winchester T3 Semi-Automatic Carbine and Accessories. Serial no. 01734, .30 caliber carbine, 18-inch Winchester barrel with circle W mark and WRA. Parkerized finish. Right side of rear sight base marked U.S. CARBINE / CALIBER .30 T3. Parkerized flat bolt. Receiver marked TRADEMARK / WINCHESTER. Tang with W mark. Unmarked type 2 barrel band. Magazine button marked M. Flip safety. T3 stock with low wood, oval oiler recess and marked W on the sling inlet. No cartouches or proof marks on the stock. Unmarked four-rivet hand guard. Checkered plastic pistol grip with switch for activating the infrared light source. Large infrared light source mounted to the underside of the stock via a flat-sided retaining nut. The scope has no nomenclature tag but is part numbered D-5637-7-1 and is an M2 type. The scope is fixed to raised mounts on the front and rear of the receiver. A series of electrical cables and wires connect to the power source which is contained in a black rubberized canvas bag with integrally mounted OD web carrying slings. The bag is complete with power unit but is lacking the battery though the metal frame for the battery is present. Additionally included are two rubberized OD bags for carrying the power unit, extra plastic pistol grip assembly, various photocopied training and maintenance manuals, and a new old stock battery with later connectors which will require an adaptor to work with the earlier power unit. The T3 was produced in limited numbers by Winchester and Inland. Total production by both companies was something less than 2,000 examples. In addition to this scarce Winchester example, we are pleased to offer an Inland example and another Inland M1 which has been modified for using an infrared scope in this current auction.Condition: Excellent. Retaining 90-95% thin Parkerized finish worn slightly on the high spots. Crisp action. Bright bore. The electrical components and scope have not been tested but the physical condition of all such material appears sound.
