Description
British Proofed U.S. Springfield M1 Garand Semi-Automatic Rifle.Serial no. 378800 [receiver], .30 caliber, 24-inch barrel with standard military sights. Parkerized finish. Top of action marked: U.S. RIFLE / CAL. 30 M1 / SPRINGFIELD ARMORY. Barrel has British proof mark (crown) / BMF. Smooth walnut pistolgrip stock with sling swivels and stacking swivel. Checkered metal buttplate with cleaning rod reservoir. The M1 Garand, also known as the U.S. Rifle, Caliber .30, M1, was the standard U.S. service rifle from 1936 until 1957. While designed by John C. Garand, the semi-automatic rifle is closely associated with its primary manufacturer, the Springfield Armory.
Condition: Good. Retaining approximately 90-94% finish with scattered signs of handling wear and fine patches of pitting. Noticeable scuffs, dings and bruising present to wood. Action crisp. Strong bore. Tom Mixon Collection
