Colt Model 1855 Revolving Saddle Ring Carbine.

Serial no. 10028, .56 caliber, 5-shot cylinder, 21-inch octagonal and round barrel with fixed front sight and folding rear sight. Blued and case-hardened finish. Top of receiver marked: COL. COLT HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A. Saddle ring. Smooth walnut straight stock with sling swivel. Brass triggerguard. Metal carbine buttplate. Original brass museum inventory tag attached: J.M. DAVIS / 7976 / MEMORIAL.
Sold to Benefit The JM Davis Collection at the JM Davis Arms and Historical Museum, Part II.

Condition: Very good. Retaining traces of finish in protected areas, the balance a smooth grey patina with areas of handling wear, age and patches of pitting. Noticeable scuffs and dings present to stock. Action good. Strong bore.
