Description
Cased & Engraved John Rigby & Co. Double Barrel Shotgun.Serial no. 18406 [barrels, receiver and lower tang], 12 gauge, 29-inch barrels with smooth rib and fixed front bead sight. Blued finish. Top of barrel marked: J. RIGBY & CO. 13. PALL MALL. LONDON. S.W.1. Elaborately scroll engraved case-hardened receiver and lever, marked: J. RIGBY & CO. Dual triggers. scroll engraved blued triggerguard. Checkered walnut straight stock and splinter fore-end. Oval escutcheon to base of stock with the initials EWM. Length of pull: 15 1/4-inches. Weight: 6-pounds, 10-ounces. Accompanied by handwritten gun shop receipt dated 9-6-1985, detailing specifics of the bores. Contained in factory fitted leather case with green felt lining. Company decal to inside lid. Assorted cleaning tools included.
Condition: Very good. Retaining approximately 97-99% finish with some scattered signs of handling wear and fine patches of pitting. Few minor scuffs and scratches present to wood. Action good. Bright bores. Case showing a few signs of storage wear.
