8 x 57 R mm Emile Kerner & Sohn Boxlock Double Rifle.Serial no. 15293. 8 x 57 R. 25 1/8-inch barrels with matted flat rib. Ramped spear front sight and fixed rear sight with unmarked folding leaf. French gray scalloped, reinforced boxlock action engraved with floral design and game scenes of roe deer and hound with a wild boar. Greener-style crossbolt. Cocking indicators. Extractor. Side clips. Intercepting safeties. Adjustable double set-triggers. Greener-style side safety. Horn triggerguard. Finely checkered pistolgrip stock with fluted horn gripcap and grooved horn buttplate. Horn diamonds at grip. Cheekpiece. Sling swivels. Finely checkered splinter fore-end with horn tip.
Data: Proof: German, Nitro, 7.7, 57, 7/24. Weight: 7 pounds 13 ounces.
Condition: Excellent. Barrels show 98-99% bluing. Bores show well defined rifling with some frosting. Action shows a uniform gray finish. Stock shows some light marks. Fore-end shows a few light marks and a one-half inch loss at edge.
