450 - 3 1/4 Holland & Holland Hammer Black Powder Double Rifle. Serial no. 11396. .450-3/1/4 BPE. 27-inch barrels with 3/8-inch rib, matted at rear and smooth in front of rear sight. Rear sight with standing and a folding leaf. Flush spear front sight with folding moon sight. Barrels marked: Holland & Holland, 98 New Bond Street, London / Winners of all the "Field" Rifle Trials, London. Border engraved casehardened Jones underlever action with back action rebounding locks. Percussion fences. Checkered pistolgrip stock of figured contrasting walnut with steel grip cap. Stock stamped: 21 577 behind grip cap. Smooth steel buttplate. Vacant silver oval. Checkered splinter fore-end with lever release. Sling eyes.Condition: Fine as partially redone. Barrels show 70-80% finish. Excellent bright bores. Action shows 10-15% case colors. Tight action. Stock shows a refreshed finish with some light marks. Checkering shows some wear.
