Description
13mm Caliber Scherping Hammer Double Rifle. NVSN. 13x37mm caliber. 25 3/4-inch Damascus barrels with smooth flat rib marked: H Scherping, Hoe-Buchsenmacher in Hannover. Spear front sight and standing rear sight. Forward facing lever Jones'-style locking system. Non-rebounding locks with later side safeties. Action and locks engraved with fine foliate scroll details and border engraving. Horn lever and pistolgrip triggerguard. Checkered straight grip stock of well-figured walnut with cheekpiece. Heel and toe plates with checkered center at butt. Top tang inset with folding aperture sight and crown with a cross and a rampant lion in gold. Sling swivels. Checkered fixed splinter fore-end.Condition: Fine. Barrels show a gray patina. Bores show well-defined rifling with some frosting. Action shows a silver gray patina. Stock shows nicks, scratches and impressions. Fore-end shows loss to the edge.
