Description
Wm. Jenks Sidehammer Navy Percussion Carbine.Unserialized, .54 caliber, 24-inch barrel with front fixed sight. Blued finish. Sidehammer action. Lock marked: WM. JENKS and N.P. AMES / SPRINGFIELD / MASS. Top of barrel marked: USN / RP / P / 1844. Smooth walnut full body stock with brass barrel bands, triggerguard and buttplate. Metal ramrod.
Condition: Very good as configured. Finish primarily a smooth grey patina with Scattered wear and pitting. Scuffs and dings present to wood. Action needs adjustment.
UPDATE: Barrel has been cut down, not orignally a carbine.
