Description
W. William Thompson North Carolina Percussion Plains Rifle.Unserialized, approximately .38 caliber, 46-inch octagonal barrel with fixed front and rear sights. Blued finish. Top of barrel marked: W. THOMPSON N.C. NO. 31. Scroll engraved hammer. Engraved game scene to lock. Smooth hardwood straight stock. Brass fore-end cap, triggerguard and buttplate. Wood ramrod.
Condition: Good. Finish primarily a smooth grey patina with areas of handling wear, age and pitting. Scattered scuffs and ding present to wood. Action functions. Moderately pitted bore.
