U.S. Springfield Model 1861 Percussion Rifle-Musket. A perfect example for reenactors or display. This specimen with a mixture of new and replaced parts. Standard configuration with 1862 dated lock, 40" round barrel, and in .58 caliber. No visible serial number. The barrel and tang have been substantially buffed. The stock has a spurious VI Corps badge and company number carved on the right side of the butt and the initials "J.M." on the right. Still, as previously mentioned, perfect for reenacting or display. Very good as reconditioned.
