Description
U.S. Springfield 1863 Musket with Bayonet.Unserialized, approximately .58 caliber, 39-inch barrel with fixed front sight and rear folding sight. Lock marked: 1863, (eagle) and U.S. / SPRINGFIELD. Smooth hardwood straight stock with sling swivels and three barrel bands. Metal ramrod, triggerguard and US stamped buttplate. Socket bayonet with 17-inch blade.
Condition: Good. Finish primarily a bright grey patina with noticeable wear and surface rust. Heavy scuffs, dings and bruising present to wood. Large cracks around wrist. Action good. Strong bore.
