Description

U.S. Springfield 1827 Percussion Musket with Bayonet. NVSN, .70 caliber, 42-inch round barrel with fixed front sight and folding rear sight. Lock dated 1827 along with U.S. Springfield / eagle. Barrel marked 1862 with circled P proof. Walnut stock. Three barrel bands. Swivel sling mounts. US marked carbine butt. Ramrod. Sold along with US / WR marked socket bayonet.
Condition: Good. Finish primarily a dark brown age patina with wear, staining and scattered pitting. Stock showing scuffs, scratches and dents. Noticeable crack and some wood loss to each side of stock at buttplate, as well as cracking around left corner of lock. Action is tight. Bore is good. Bayonet with heavy pitting.
