Description

U.S. Model 1861 Springfield Percussion Musket and Bayonet. .58 caliber, 40-inch round barrel with fixed front sight. Straight walnut stock with two barrel bands, curved metal buttplate and ramrod. Accompanied by a socket bayonet with brass-tipped leather scabbard and frog. Condition: Fair. Metal surfaces with an overall brown patina with surface rust and powder pitting at the breech. Wood well-worn with scratches, nicks, and abrasions. Bore dark and dirty. Bayonet very good with no visible property markings.
