Description

US M1795/1808 .69 Caliber Smoothbore Musket. Converted to percussion utilizing the drum method. The hammer is frozen in place. Lock nicely marked Sutton / US / eagle / 1811. The walnut stock is broken at the wrist with an old screw repair, and there is a repaired chip above the lock. Dark patina overall . The stock has the initials "P. C. F." carved on the obverse and "B. G. B." Barrel with V in oval cartouche and US proofs. Retains the original ramrod. A rather scarce contract and certainly worthy of restoration.
