Description
U.S. Harpers Ferry 1857 Maynard Percussion Rifle.Unserialized, .58 caliber, 32-inch barrel with fixed front sight, bayonet lug and adjustable rear folding sight. Blued finish. Top of barrel stamped: U.S. 1857. Lock marked: 1857 (eagle) U.S. / HARPERS FERRY. Smooth walnut straight stock. Two brass barrel bands, each stamped "U". Sling swivels. Hinged patchbox to right side of stock. Brass triggerguard and butt. Metal ramrod.
Condition: Good. Finish primarily a mottled grey patina with noticeable areas of handling wear and pitting. Stock broken in a few places around action and wrist. Large wood loss to each side of barrel. Dings and scuffs present to wood. Action good. Moderately pitted bore.
