U.S. Harpers Ferry 1855 Maynard Percussion Rifle with Bayonet.

Unserialized, approximately .58 caliber, 33-inch barrel with bayonet lug, fixed front sight and folding rear sight. Top of barrel dated: 185X. Lock marked: 1861, (eagle) and U.S. / HARPERS FERRY. Smooth walnut straight stock with sling swivels and shoulder sling. Sling stamped: R. WHITE / U.S. / ORD. DEPT. / SUB INSPECTOR and S.H. YOUNG / CO. / NEWARK / N.J. Hinged metal patchbox to right side of stock. Metal carbine buttplate and ramrod. Grooved brass handle bayonet with 21-inch clip-point blade, and 15-inch fuller. Brass tipped, leather wrapped scabbard. 28-inches in overall length.

Condition: Good. Finish primarily a mottled grey patina with noticeable signs of handling wear and patches of pitting. Heavy scuffs, dings and bruising present to wood. Action good. Moderately pitted bore.
