U.S. D. Nippes Model 1808 Flintlock Musket.

Unserialized, .68 caliber, 44-inch barrel with fixed front sight and bayonet lug. M / V / CT proofs to top of barrel. Lock marked: NIPPE / & CO. / PHILA. and (eagle) / U.S. Brass fleur-de-lis etched flash guard. Smooth hardwood straight stock with sling swivels and three barrel bands. Metal ramrod, triggerguard and buttplate. Metal inventory tag #16 handling from sling swivel below action.
According to consignor notes, musket was part of the North and Gluckman collection, acquired from Greg Martin auctions.

Condition: Very good. Finish primarily a smooth grey patina with scattered signs of handling wear and patches of pitting. Noticeable scuffs, dings and bruising present to wood. Action good. Pitted bore. From the Sylver Schaller Collection.
