Description
Swiss Percussion Schutzen Rifle by Muller.Serial no. 290(breech,lower tang, triggerplate, triggerguard, guard screw, buttplate and forward sling swivel plate), approximately .60 caliber, 35-inch round barrel with 16-groove rifling. Inscribed line and marked: 300-400-500-600. Large rear sight block. Breech is marked: 1796/[bear in shield]/MULLER IN BERN. Lock also marked: MULLER IN BERN and 290. Set trigger. Brass triggerguard. Hardwood stock with cheekrest, two sling swivels and hardwood ramrod with brass tip. Stock behind lower tang with imprint of a bear. Curved steel buttplate.
Condition: Good. All steel has a dark brown, mostly smooth patina. Triggerguard with dark patina. Top of hammer is absent. Stock with heavy age wear and soiling.
