Sharps New Model 1863 Breechloading Saddle Ring Carbine. Serial no. C9273, .54 caliber, 22-inch barrel with fixed front blade sight and rear ladder sight. Blued finish. Case-hardened receiver. Saddle ring. Varnished walnut stock and fore-end. Faint cartouche to left side of stock. Curved metal buttplate. Property from the Estate of John R. Condition: Very good. Finish primarily a plum grey patina with wear and pitting. Wood showing scuffs, dings and bruising. Noticeable cracks to each side of stock coming off of upper tang. Action good. Moderately pitted bore.
