Description
S. Hawken Half Stock Percussion Rifle.Unserialized, .52 caliber, 30-inch heavy octagonal barrel with fixed front and rear sight. Blued finish. Top of barrel marked: S. HAWKEN ST. LOUIS. Lock scroll engraved with game scene and the word RIDDLE (?). Checkered walnut half stock with brass furniture and hinged storage compartment. Ramrod.
Condition: Very good. Finish primarily a mottled grey patina with staining, wear and pitting. Wood showing scattered scuffs and dings. Some olive toning to brass. Action functions.
