Moroccan "Kabyle" Miquelet Rifle.

Approximately .69 caliber, 52-inch octagonal barrel with silver, brass and copper features and accents including working ramrod. Overlaid and scrolling style metal work throughout. Wooden stock with primitive checkering accents to buttstock and forend. Leather wrapped wrist. Also known as a Kabyle Musket, according to A Glossary of the Construction, Decoration and Use of Arms and Armor Book by Stone, "Along the south shore of the Mediterranean the Kabyles used very long guns with short, deep stocks and very large snaphaan locks...... Overall length is: 67-inches. Consignor notes state: "1700 MIGULET-LOCK FLINT MORROCCO".

Condition: Good for its age and origin. Barrel has been cleaned. Extensive hammered work throughout. Replacement screws, some repairs under metal accents. Crack and loose around lockplate area. Patina throughout the gun. Action works but extremely tight. Bore dark. From the Sylver Schaller Collection.
